Visit to Lady Elizabeth School 22 April 2008
Amidst lots of laughing, shrieking and clapping the children of the International Lady Elizabeth School in Javea were given a demonstration by the Volunteer Firemen of Balcon al Mar.
They climbed aboard the fire engine, operated the siren, loudspeaker system, asked “difficult” questions, and operated the water hose as well as being sprayed by the hose.
The first and second year infant class participated and all but one wanted to be “fireman” when they grew up, the exception wanted to be a Vet.
The Volunteer fireman, Jim Campbell and John Aspden said they had had a most enjoyable time and that the children were enthusiastic and a pleasure to demonstrate to. The Lady Elizabeth School, as with the Bomberos at Balcon al Mar, is a truly international organisation.
